A Birthday Blessing

Today, an acquaintance wished me, "happy birthday!" with a wonderful phrase which sums up what the essence of one's birthday really is!

She typed in capital letters, "CELEBRATE YOUR EXISTENCE" with the casual 'uwu' expression.

How beautiful it is to celebrate you, to celebrate the years you've tide through and your life that is still moving forward despite it all.

Celebration calls for rejoicing, dancing, singing, partying and whatever that you can imagine.

However, I am really talking about an inner celebration of who you are and who you have grown to become.

It isn't simply a portrait shot of you standing in front of your birthday year-shaped balloons, a fancy cake and colourful decorations.

It's something so sacred and private that you somehow feel content regardless if anything 'big' happens on your birthday.

You feel okay even if the world is quiet on your birthday because you have found joy in celebrating you, even before others around you get to do so.

So if you're reading this today, I just want to say that you don't have to wait for a birthday to celebrate you. Celebrate you NOW. You are worth celebrating for, and what a time as this that you're alive.

I hope you see meaning in your existence as much as your loved ones do. Sometimes, we don't see the light we shine onto others' lives. And if only we do. (o˘◡˘o)
